Teaching – Pasta in Bed at Städelschule Rundgang 2012
Pasta in Bed co-lead by Anton Savov and Andre Chaszar is a SAC programme module introducing the students to dynamic material properties at an architectural scale in a domestic setting. The first phase took the students through a series of experiments with common and exotics materials.
In the second phase the students worked in groups developing the design and building a one-to-one scale installation for the Städelschule’s renowned annual Rundgang show. The installations show how materials can respond to changing environmental conditions as well as to the presence and actions of occupants/visitors.
Pasta in Bed explored key concepts in the research collaboration between SAC, Bollinger+Grohmann Ingenieure, RMIT and Grimshaw Architects Melbourne which culminates at SmartGeometry in March 2012.
